Key Responsibilities:

The Head of Buying will lead the buying team to develop and implement a merchandise strategy that aligns with the company's overall strategy. This includes delivering defined turnover growth and margins, as well as product and trend direction, development, and sourcing to meet consumer expectations.

  • Develop and implement a merchandise strategy that drives business growth and profitability.
  • Lead the buying team to conceptualize and execute product plans that meet consumer demand and company objectives.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and service.
  • Manage and control stock levels based on seasonal forecasts and planning.
  • Ensure reliable source of supply through effective supplier relationships and sound processes.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that balance external price pressures with internal cost controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align buying strategies with broader company goals.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience in buying or merchandise management. They will have a proven track record of building and maintaining strategic supplier relationships and driving a merchandise strategy through innovative and creative thinking.
