Mintek, a leading research and development institution in South Africa, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mine Rehabilitation Specialist to join their team.
Salary: R400,000 - R600,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will assist in the on-site project monitoring of mine rehabilitation projects, conducting routine inspections to ensure that rehabilitation activities align with project specifications and timelines. Additionally, they will conduct site investigations to gather necessary data for rehabilitation designs, collaborate with the project team to produce accurate and actionable technical designs and reports, support effective project management by tracking progress and maintaining detailed records, and work closely with contractors and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent (NQF level 7) degree in Civil Engineering is required, along with excellent academic record: 60% average. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong understanding of mine rehabilitation principles and practices.
