About the Role

Isilumko Staffing (JHB) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Executive Manager to lead our Laboratory Services department. This pivotal role is responsible for developing and driving the strategy for efficient service delivery, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and maintaining the highest standards in diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Drive Laboratory Strategy: Develop and drive the strategy for efficient service delivery of the Company's laboratory service, ensuring alignment with the Company's overall objectives.
  • Executive Leadership: Participate as a member of the executive management team to fulfill the Company's strategic objectives, providing leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Process Improvement: Design, improve, and implement laboratory systems and processes to deliver diagnostic services, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of Area Managers to deliver strategic and operational plans, providing guidance and support to ensure successful implementation.
  • Planning and Budgeting: Develop and prepare short-term and long-range plans and budgets with a focus on laboratory services, ensuring alignment with the Company's overall objectives.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the AARQA Executive and discipline expert committees to enhance laboratory services, making recommendations to the CEO, and ensuring effective communication and information flow.
  • Operational Control: Develop operational controls and procedures to promote communication and information flow, ensuring effective management control and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality and Efficiency: Create improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and quality of laboratory services, ensuring alignment with the Company's overall objectives.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement laboratory operating policies consistent with Company policies and objectives, ensuring their execution and effective management.
  • Performance Evaluation: Appraise and evaluate the results of laboratory operations and systematically report these results, ensuring effective management and decision-making.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Oversee laboratory operations and manage compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, ensuring effective risk management and mitigation.
  • Client Focus: Lead a people and service-centric laboratory service with effective delivery and client satisfaction as priorities, ensuring alignment with the Company's overall objectives.
  • Process Evaluation: Measure and ensure the effectiveness of all laboratory processes and provide timely, accurate reports on operations, ensuring effective management and decision-making.
Minimum Requirements
  • Qualifications: MBCHB with additional business qualification at master's level OR master's degree in medical technology, Biomedical Science, MMED, or FCPath. Registration with HPCSA in the relevant discipline.
  • Experience: 12 years' experience in pathology, diagnostic environment, infectious diseases, or public health, with 5 years in senior management in a healthcare environment.
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Postgraduate qualification in business management is an added advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of laboratory/pathology industry operations and their impact on healthcare delivery.
