Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Maritime Lawyer Advocate who can work closely with clients to understand their legal needs and provide tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maritime law and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clear and concise legal advice on complex maritime law matters
  • Act as counsel on legal issues related to maritime law
  • Contact and liaise with clients to understand their legal needs
  • Research and analyse relevant regulatory requirements and translate into business solutions
  • Draft legal opinions, affidavits, pleadings, and related Court documents
  • Build and maintain business relationships with clients and other stakeholders

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A minimum of 3 years litigation experience, preferably in maritime law
  • An LLM or studying towards an LLM in Maritime Law
  • An Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers qualification (strong advantage)

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of R1,200,000 - R1,500,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as health insurance, retirement fund contributions, and study assistance.
