We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Communicate Recruitment.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, as well as supervising and reviewing bank reconciliations.
Responsibilities include preparing month-end financial reports, balance sheet reconciliations, and processing accurate journal entries. The successful candidate will also collect and analyze financial data to maintain accurate records of sales revenue, liabilities, and key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all general ledger transactions for assigned entitiesSupervise and review bank reconciliations prepared by bookkeepersPrepare month-end financial reports and balance sheet reconciliations for review by the Senior Financial AccountantProcess accurate journal entries and perform monthly reconciliations with third-party pay-in and pay-out partnersCollect and analyze financial data to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales revenue, liabilities, and key performance indicatorsPrepare and submit statutory and regulatory returns in line with required deadlinesSupport the Group Tax team with accurate and timely tax submissions, ensuring full compliance with tax regulationsAssist in year-end audit processes and prepare draft statutory financial statements for reviewContribute to business improvement initiatives, including system implementations and process optimizationsWork closely with senior managers, finance teams, auditors, tax professionals, and other stakeholders to align financial strategies with business goalsProvide internal support to other departments to resolve financial and commercial issuesRequirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
Proven work experience as a Financial Accountant or completed articlesMinimum of 2-3 years experience is highly preferableExperience with multi-national group structures, preferably across Africa and/or the UKFinance business systems experience across ERP platforms, preferably NetSuiteExperience in preparing VAT and Corporate tax returns in conjunction with the internal Tax functionExperience working in financial services or highly regulated industriesExperience in high growth/fast-moving organizationsAdvanced time management and organizational skills (Essential)Strong understanding of financial principles and conceptsProficiency in accounting software and MS Office (especially MS Excel)Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, or a related field is essential. Currently studying towards CA (SA), CIMA, or SAIPA qualification is preferred.
