Job Description:

The Technology Operations Director will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to CTU Career Chatz' technology operations, overseeing the management of internal systems and infrastructure. The role demands a proactive approach to managing resources, security, and policies, along with the flexibility to adapt as the organization transitions with technological advancements in the education sector.

Main Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management

  1. Leadership and Vision: Define the structure and roles necessary for effective technology delivery, establishing a clear vision for the technology operations team.
  2. Cadence and Planning: Establish daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cadences for technology delivery, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  3. Performance Management: Manage performance for IT/ICT staff, including training, mentorship, and professional development to enhance technical skills and expertise.
  4. Project Management: Oversee project management, including definitions, timelines, and tracking for all ICT initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  5. Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and report on the IT/ICT budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and optimization.
  6. Vendor Management: Maintain strong vendor management across all ICT needs, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with the company's standards.
  7. Problem and Incident Management: Handle problem and incident management to ensure seamless technology operations, minimizing downtime and maximizing user experience.
  8. Hardware and Software Lifecycle: Manage hardware and software lifecycle, from procurement to retirement, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  9. Documentation and Policies: Create and enforce documentation and policies governing IT/ICT processes, ensuring compliance and alignment with industry standards.
  10. IT/ICT Integration: Ensure IT/ICT integration into all aspects of the business through interpersonal collaboration and communication, driving business success and growth.

Technical Delivery

  1. Internal Systems and Infrastructure: Ensure availability, performance, security, and ease of use for internal systems and infrastructure, aligning with industry standards and best practices.
  2. Unified Communications and Datacentre Contracts: Oversee unified communications and datacentre contracts, ensuring seamless delivery and alignment with business goals.
  3. Higher-Tier Support: Direct higher-tier support for Microsoft 365, Mountain Box/OpnSense NGFWs, Ubiquiti Network Solutions, and Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Server, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with business objectives.
  4. Internal System Security Policy: Own and enforce the internal system security policy, data governance, and compliance, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  5. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans, ensuring regular maintenance and testing to minimize downtime and maximize user experience.
  6. Monthly Reporting: Conduct monthly reporting to Directors on IT/ICT activities, issues, and achievements, ensuring transparency and alignment with business goals.
  7. Cybersecurity: Own the cybersecurity function for the organization, requiring an understanding of systems and platform security, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  8. Internal Systems Roadmap: Lead interoffice communication and programme management of the Internal Systems Roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  9. End-User Devices: Manage procurement and deployment of end-user devices, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Health and Safety Legislation: Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation, prioritizing the safety of self and others in all technology interactions, minimizing risks and ensuring a safe working environment.

Skills and Experience

Must-Have Skills and Experience

  • Technical Leadership: 5+ years in a technical lead or senior technical role, demonstrating strong technical expertise and leadership skills.
  • Microsoft 365 Experience: 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft 365 (certifications preferred), ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Mid-Tier Enterprise Networking: 2+ years of experience in mid-tier enterprise networking (certifications preferred), ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Systems and Platform Security: 2+ years in systems and platform security (certifications preferred), ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
  • Management Experience: 3+ years of experience in a management role, including experience with Agile development and product management methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Proven success in influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels with a diverse blend of influencing styles, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Change Management: Demonstrable success in change management within a fast-paced environment, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
