About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid projects. As a key member of our project development team, you will be responsible for identifying and evaluating new project opportunities, contributing to strategic planning, and managing project budgets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Development of Renewable Energy projects throughout South Africa
- Identification and evaluation of new project opportunities – greenfield and acquisition
- Contribution to strategic planning of project pipeline
- Representation of the company towards landowners, authorities, partners, local communities, and key stakeholders
- Support offtake development & PPA discussions
- Management of project budgets
- Management of external consultants appointed to assigned projects
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least 2 years of experience in Renewable Energy project development
- A good understanding of the full project development cycle, including technical, commercial, and regulatory requirements of Renewable projects
- A self-driven, motivated, hands-on mentality with excellent organizational skills
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively, nationally and internationally
- Great written and oral communication skills with the ability to present effectively
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT) and common project management tools
- Experience with GIS and a tertiary education in a technical or commercial field
- Business fluency in English, with additional South African languages being a plus
