Job Overview

Mass Staffing Projects is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our engineering efforts in the Secunda Office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the engineering development, design, and construction of various projects in industrial plants, including Oil & Gas, Chemical, Mining, and Power Generation Plants.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Management: Define and understand specific project scope and deliverables, and manage the submission of competitive proposals.
  2. Team Collaboration: Function as part of a project team, liaise with other professional team members, other engineering disciplines, and contractors.
  3. Structural Engineering Design: Coordinate and manage the structural engineering design team, planning and management of the engineering aspects of projects in terms of scope, time, costs, and quality.
  4. Contract Administration: Prepare Contract administration documentation based on NEC3/ NEC4.
  5. Design and Analysis: Detailed structural analysis and design for both reinforced concrete and structural steel type structures.
  6. Quality Control: Review, update, and modification of drawings, visual inspections and integrity assessments of existing civil and structural components of industrial plants.
  7. Technical Support: Technical support during construction.

Requirements

  1. Minimum 8 years' experience in engineering and design of concrete and steel structures.
  2. Experience in the Oil & Gas Environment will be an advantage.
  3. Solid knowledge and understanding of software like Bentley Microstation and/or AutoCAD, Prokon, and Revit.
  4. Must have experience in the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures.
  5. Experience in leading structural design projects, including resource planning and design time frame estimates.
  6. BSc/BEng Degree in Civil Engineering.
  7. Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer.
