About the Role

This fixed-term contract position is based at our Mowbray campus in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to ensure the smooth conduct of clinical trials, from participant recruitment to data collection and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of study participants, including screening and scheduling for clinical examinations and follow-up appointments
  • Performing delegated study procedures, such as vital signs, electrocardiograms, and laboratory specimen collection
  • Maintaining accurate records of participant information, laboratory results, and study logs
  • Interface with non-study clinical staff in hospitals and manage trial-related activities at multiple sites
  • Data capture and management using electronic systems

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and 2-5 years of experience in clinical research. Prior experience in Paediatrics or baby clinics is essential, as well as Good Clinical Practice Certification. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems, and have a valid driver's license. Fluency in English and a second language (Afrikaans and/or isiXhosa) is required, along with excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational, and time management skills.
