Job Title: Senior HR Officer

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Officer to join our team at IIE Rosebank College. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the human resources function, implementing HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, and HR administration.

Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment and Selection
  • Implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies to negotiate rates and ensure compliance with recruitment policies and South African Labour legislation.
  • Coordinate interviews, competency-based assessments, credential checks, and psychometric evaluations.
  • Ensure all applicants receive feedback, including regret letters.
Performance Management
  • Guide line managers on the performance management process, ensuring adherence to guidelines and facilitating individual development plans, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring initiatives.
  • Conduct consultation sessions with line management to address performance-related issues.
Remuneration and Payroll
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely payment of staff, contractors, temps, and casuals.
  • Assist line managers with market research and other initiatives regarding market salaries, increase processes, and bonus schemes.
  • Monitor and analyze payroll expenses, generating reports and proposals for rectification of problems.
Industrial Relations
  • Advise and guide line managers on staff relations issues, ensuring adherence to disciplinary and grievance policies and South African Labour legislation.
  • Coordinate disciplinary, grievance, and appeal hearings.
  • Assist line managers with progressive discipline, absenteeism management, and poor performance.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or equivalent.
Experience
  • 5 Years of Senior Human Resources Officer – generalist experience.
