Business Development Manager Position in Cape Town

The Talent Room is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a results-driven professional to take on a challenging role and make a significant impact on the company's growth.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering sales strategies, plans, and targets in consultation with our product manager. Your primary focus will be on identifying critical factors in product history and monitoring forecasting in line with marketing plans.

To achieve this, you will create opportunities to promote the goodwill of The Talent Room and grow the company's exposure in the marketplace. You will nurture exceptional relationships with current and new/potential customers, growing the sales territory and driving innovation of practical applications for our product offering.

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will inspire and motivate colleagues to deliver sales targets and delight the customer. You will evaluate and report on progress against targets and provide solutions to problems/obstacles that may arise.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of field sales experience operating in the agricultural, freight, cargo securing and/or industrial sectors in a similar role is essential.
  • Tertiary qualification in a commercial or related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer relationship orientation.
  • Sound commercial acumen and ability to structure deals in volatile trading conditions.
  • Flexible and innovative in their ability to offer unique yet practical solutions to our customers.
  • An exceptional ability to grow relationships and build rapport with clients and team members alike.
  • Demonstrated ability in spotting opportunities in the industrial or related sectors and structuring deals that grow market share.
  • Strong negotiation skills demonstrated by their confident manner and assertiveness in defending margin.
  • Goal-oriented and proactive in looking for new business opportunities and applications for our product range.
  • Patient and thorough in following up leads but tenacious in securing commitment and closing the deal.

Salary Estimate: R500,000 - R700,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
