Pastry Kitchen Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chef de Partie to join our Pastry Kitchen team at Fancourt. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food preparation and presentation to 5-star standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Presentation: Create exquisite dishes that meet our high standards, taking into account guest preferences and dietary requirements.
- Business Development: Contribute ideas and assist in the rollout of new revenue streams and business opportunities.
- Team Support: Assist the Sous Chef with menu writing, trend research, and other tasks as needed.
- Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels, par stock, costing, rotation, and stock takes to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Staff Management: Supervise, motivate, train, and perform performance management of kitchen staff.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure operating equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.
- Health & Safety: Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including cleanliness, recycling, pest control, and waste management.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, and 6 months of formal chefs training, along with at least 3 years of experience as a Demi Chef in a 4- or 5-star environment.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office and SAP is an advantage.
- Physical & Mental Fitness: Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly pressurized environment and perform the duties of the role.
What We Offer:
We are looking for candidates who have their own accommodation in George or surrounds, are willing to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts, and are physically and mentally fit to perform the duties of the role.
