We are seeking a highly qualified tenure-track assistant professor in broadcasting to join our dynamic team at Purdue University Northwest. As a member of the Department of Communication and Creative Arts, you will be responsible for teaching courses in broadcasting and journalism, including the production of a student-produced talk show on PBS.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of producing high-quality work in TV broadcasting, demonstrated expertise in video editing and publication design, and experience working with professional tools. They will also contribute to the growth and development of our programs through research, teaching, and service.
Key Duties
- Teach courses in broadcasting and journalism with a focus on TV broadcasting production and media studies.
- Conduct research and publish scholarly work in the field of broadcasting and media studies.
- Participate in service activities that benefit the department, college, and university.
Essential Qualifications
- PhD, MA, or MFA degree in a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of significant professional experience may be considered in lieu of academic qualifications.
- Teaching experience at the college level.
- Understanding of traditional journalism and research practices.
- Experience with TV broadcasting and/or media production.
