We are seeking a highly motivated Insurance Underwriter to manage a portfolio of clients, handling both commercial and personal underwriting, and ensuring seamless policy management.

About the Role

  • Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients to understand their insurance needs.">
  • Provide regular feedback and address client queries to ensure high client satisfaction.">
  • Underwrite and manage policy renewals to minimize cancellations and lapses.">
  • Handle new policy applications and quotations to meet client deadlines.">
  • Schedule on-site client meetings to build strong relationships.">
  • Maintain accurate records in the MyPractice system to ensure compliance and efficient operations.">
  • Manage administrative documentation to ensure FAIS compliance and minimize regulatory risks.">
  • Record client details and interactions in relevant systems to track progress and identify areas for improvement.">
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to drive business growth.">
  • Adhere to service level agreement deadlines to meet client expectations.">
  • Act as a liaison between the office and insurance companies to resolve any issues promptly.">
  • Maintain strong working relationships with insurers to negotiate better terms and rates.">
  • Generate reports and manage client retention to increase customer loyalty and revenue.">
  • Understand policy wording and various insurance products to provide expert advice to clients.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • A Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.">
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) to streamline tasks and improve productivity.">
  • An NQF Level 4 Full Short-Term Insurance Qualification to demonstrate expertise and knowledge.">
  • A successful completion of the Regulatory Examination (RE5) for Representatives to ensure compliance with regulations.">
  • DOFA confirmation from FSCA to verify your qualifications and experience.">
  • Fitness and propriety product-specific training to enhance your skills and knowledge.">
  • 6-7 years of relevant experience in short-term insurance to apply your expertise and knowledge effectively.">
  • At least 4 years of personal underwriting experience to develop your skills and expertise.">
  • At least 4 years of commercial underwriting experience to expand your knowledge and skills.">
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and planning skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.">
  • A valid driver's license and own transport to travel to client sites efficiently.">
