AFMS Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a seasoned Technical Operations Manager to spearhead the delivery of exceptional technical maintenance and product development services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of technical maintenance, staff, administration, CAFM systems, contract and SLA management, health and safety compliance, and client relationships.

About the Role

This is a demanding yet rewarding position that requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach. As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be tasked with defining and allocating duties via formal job descriptions and structured task allocation, managing performance through the formal performance management system, mentoring and training staff in technical and behavioral competencies, and ensuring effective disciplinary and grievance management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage technical maintenance, including preventative maintenance uploads in the CAFM system, monitoring quality of maintenance, and extracting reports for analysis and reporting.
  • Oversee the administration of all aspects of the contract, implementing administrative standards in procurement, accounts, and CAFM, managing the budget, and ensuring implementation of quality management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, implementing contractor health and safety management systems, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a successful business partnership with clients, managing all aspects of partner interactions, identifying value-added opportunities, and developing and implementing best practices for client services.
  • Develop an effective, customer-based, proactive relationship at all levels with clients.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 certificate, BTech or ND in a technical discipline, Wireman's license, and at least 3-5 years of technical experience in facilities management.
  • Enhanced knowledge of air conditioning maintenance, electrical maintenance and procedures, equipment and machinery, OSHA codes and health and safety procedures, ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 18001, technical drawing, and computer literacy.
  • Good understanding of Labour Relations Act and HR policies and procedures, as well as BBEEE requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good leadership skills, ability to take control of situations, work under pressure, meet deadlines, negotiate effectively, create and manage budgets, and communicate at a high level in both verbal and written formats.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
