Role OverviewThe Foundation Phase English Teacher will play a critical role in driving student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behavior, and academic growth. This role requires a strong desire to be part of a vibrant and dynamic technology-driven work environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and an atmosphere that encourages top performers to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students
- Provide instruction in English language and literature
- Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous learning experiences
- Lead weekly Social Emotional Learning (SEL) circles and implement the SPARK Schools SEL curriculum
- Use SPARK culture and implement behavior management strategies
- Administer assessments to track student progress and analyze data for growth
- Drive student achievement and ensure all scholars meet proficiency ratings
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders
- Qualifications: degree or PGCE in Foundation Phase English, certification through the South African Council of Educators (SACE), and SAQA accreditation for non-South African equivalent qualifications
- Experience: recently qualified teachers or teachers with experience are encouraged to apply
