Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our team at FirstRand Life Assurance Ltd. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating daily activities amongst a team to achieve a smooth workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage costs and expenses within approved budgets to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Engage with customers in a professional manner, ensuring their needs and expectations are understood.
  • Resolve customer queries efficiently and within agreed timelines.
  • Plan and develop learning schedules for both normal programs and projects.
  • Comply with governance requirements, including legislative and audit requirements.
  • Manage costs and expenses within approved budgets to achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through proactive, innovative, and appropriate solutions.
  • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Proactively supervise team members to avoid customer breakdowns.
  • Provide an efficient administration service through careful planning and reporting.
  • Comply with governance requirements, including legislative and audit requirements.
  • Track, control, and influence activities to increase operational efficiencies.
  • Collate, manage, and report on daily, weekly, and monthly operational progress.
  • Ensure team members have the necessary skills and capacity to adhere to operational and service standards.
  • Manage performance, skills development, employment equity, talent, and culture of the team.
  • Manage personal and team development to increase skills and competencies.

Requirements

  • Matric certificate.
  • Diploma or degree.
  • Fluency in English and other South African languages.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a team leader or similar role in an insurance contact centre environment.
