Senior Operations Manager Position

R1.3 million (negotiable) plus performance-based bonus.

Cape Town, South Africa

This is a prime career opportunity with a leading private equity investment group. As part of the high-performing team in the international private equity space, you will contribute to making primary and secondary private equity investments in buyout, growth, and venture capital funds across the USA, Europe, and Asia.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive reports and supporting documentation for board meetings.
  • Contribute to establishing a world-class operating environment for the IPE business.
  • Perform reporting functions for the IPE business, including stakeholder reports, IC valuations reports, investment managers' reports, banking reports, etc.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders such as lawyers, bankers, administrators, auditors, and investment managers.
  • Provide recommendations on capital calls, cash statements review, and make cash management decisions.
  • Conduct back-office reporting reviews.
  • Ensure net asset value confirmation to the investment manager.
  • Prepare advisory fee calculation reviews and arrange invoices.
  • Review financial statements and respond to audit queries.
  • Credit facility renewals.
  • Handle FATCA/CRS update requests from portfolio funds.
  • Prepare subscription documents for all new portfolio funds.
  • Tax requests from Group Tax.
  • Update sub-fund prospectuses.
  • Invoice reviews and allocation between sub-funds.

Requirements:

  • CA/SA or relevant degree with at least 10 years of experience in private markets or financial services.
  • Prior experience working in a middle office Investment banking, asset management, or private equity finance environment is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Strong cultural fit – partnership, humility, perspective, respect.
  • Good technical ability, specifically the ability to understand complexities and nuances around international private equity investments and portfolios.
