About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Business Intelligence and Analytics to join our team at Sanlam. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving business decisions through data-driven insights and strategic analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Contribution
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive business intelligence strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for business growth and improvement through data analysis and insights.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions.
    • Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Business and Decision Support
    • Design and implement business intelligence solutions that meet the needs of various stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's business operations and processes.
    • Provide expert-level support and guidance to business stakeholders on data analysis and interpretation.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in business intelligence and analytics.
  • People and Change Management
    • Lead and manage a team of business analysts and data scientists.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance data literacy and analytics skills across the organization.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of business intelligence solutions.
    • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Glacier BI Operating Model and Platform
    • Develop and implement a modern business intelligence platform that meets the needs of the organization.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of business intelligence solutions.
    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company's business operations and processes.
  • BI Operations
    • Manage and oversee the service model and relevant service level agreements with IT teams.
    • Develop and implement a budgeting and cost recovery model that ensures the sustainability of business intelligence solutions.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of business intelligence solutions.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mathematics, computer science, or business.
    • 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence and analytics, with a focus on leadership and management.
    • Proven track record of delivering business intelligence solutions that drive business growth and improvement.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Strong business acumen and leadership capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work with complex data systems and technologies.
