PBT Group is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. This role is essential in connecting the business and IT sectors, facilitating a better understanding of how data-driven modifications to processes, products, services, software, and hardware can enhance operational efficiency and deliver value to our clients.

The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a vital link between end users and the BI project team, responsible for gathering and articulating business requirements. This position requires expertise in identifying business objectives, inquiries, and challenges, as well as in acquiring and presenting data to resolve these issues. A deep understanding of the tools and methodologies used to generate data insights, from basic queries to complex analyses and data mining, is crucial for this role.

The analyst will also engage in the design of data marts, ensuring an optimal balance of data accessibility, format, flexibility, and performance. Participation in the complete Data Product Lifecycle is expected, encompassing requirement definition, data analysis, and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Definition Phase:

  • Conduct interviews with end users to ascertain their needs for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential data sources.
  • Ensure that BI solutions meet specified requirements and service level agreements.
  • Coordinate reviews of prototypes and gather feedback.
  • Document requirements in appropriate formats, including:
    • Data Warehouse content requirements
    • Data Mart specifications
    • Information output requirements
    • Functional requirements for information exploitation tools

2. Data Profiling and Feasibility Phase:

  • Analyze business information needs.
  • Recommend suitable scopes of requirements and priorities.
  • Validate business requirements against production data.
  • Map business needs to subject area models and logical enterprise models.
  • Identify dimension hierarchies and validate them with production data.
  • Establish business rules for state detection.

3. Design Phase:

  • Collaborate with architects to convert requirements into technical specifications.
  • Identify business transformation rules.
  • Design access structures using production data.
  • Classify business users by type and develop security standards.
  • Create state transformation models.

4. Development Phase:

  • Provide support to the development team to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements, leading to high-quality solutions.

5. Testing Phase:

  • Plan and execute acceptance tests for functionality and data integrity.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing.

6. Change Management and Deployment:

  • Educate users on data warehousing capabilities.
  • Design a training framework and develop training materials.
  • Establish service-level agreements with business users.
  • Assist in defining a support plan and interface with process teams regarding business process reengineering.
  • Help users locate the right information.

Required Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with a proven record in delivering Data & Analytics projects through the Data/Analytics Development Lifecycle.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

4. BI Project Related Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with SSIS and data warehousing.
  • Experience in systems analysis and understanding of modern data platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will hold an IT or business-related qualification.
  • Relevant certifications such as FTI or similar BA qualifications are advantageous.
