Job Title: Systems Administrator

We are looking for a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at Recruitment Matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and customizing our ERP system, implementing changes and upgrades as needed, and providing technical and functional support to our end users. The Systems Administrator will report directly to our Finance Manager.

  • Responsible for all System Administration of Syspro ERP (including license updates)
  • Create and maintain user profiles, roles, and overall access to Syspro functions
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity of master and transactional data in Syspro
  • Oversee the daily performance of Syspro and report any issues to IT & Financial Manager
  • Ensure auditable changes are made and noted effective
  • Scope value-adding features within Syspro to allow better use of the system and increase ROI
  • Keep abreast with latest changes on Syspro, including changes made in ports/hotfixes
  • Ensure continuous training is done on the Syspro Learning Channel (SLC)
  • Engage with other domain owners/users to ensure end-to-end solutions are implemented
  • Communication, planning, and implementation of project deliverables
  • Oversee change control, enhancement, and testing of new implementations
  • Manage relationships with all external service providers
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and administration of the assigned business systems
  • Reporting implementation and maintenance of systems
  • Act as project manager for new projects to ensure successful and timeous completion
  • Construct and understand business processes that contribute to the successful implementation of enhanced or new systems
  • Keep up to date with new solutions that are better suited to the business processes
  • Continuous improvement and initiatives relating to business system processes
  • In conjunction with relevant departments, be responsible for the timeous resolution of support queries, including liaison with consultants
  • Provide user support for the end users as well as suggest improvements where necessary
  • Provide/organise training sessions, where necessary, to improve user knowledge and effectiveness in business applications
  • Attend to helpdesk tickets within 48 hours
  • Assist with the year-end stock take and ensure roles and procedures are defined from a systems point of view
  • Advise/assist users to perform transactions more effectively and help with the completion of tasks more efficiently
  • Develop custom reports and dashboards in Syspro to support business decision making
  • Analyse business data to identify trends, performance issues, and optimisation opportunities
  • Work with business intelligence tools to integrate and visualise Syspro data

Requirements:

  • Ability to initiate improvements on projects and see them to fruition
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High proficiency in Excel and T-SQL
  • Excellent analytical design and organisational skills with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Project initiation, planning, and business process improvement skills necessary
  • Stock costing methodology, auditing knowledge & techniques beneficial

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma
  • 6-8 years' experience working in a similar role as well as Syspro, Database Helpdesk Support and Business Systems
  • A good financial understanding of transactional processing across all the modules in Syspro
  • Strong understanding of Syspro architecture
  • VB Scripting experience
  • Knowledge of integration principles with Syspro sub-modules
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Zap, Power BI, SSRS
