Key Responsibilities

Labor Management

  • Assist in the compilation and submission of Employment Equity Reports to the relevant authorities on an annual basis.
  • Form and chair the Employment Equity Committee to ensure effective implementation of equity policies.

Recruitment Process

Induction Process

BEE Compliance and Implementation

  • Assist the National HR Manager in preparing the company's BEE Verification Audit File on all elements of the scorecard.

General Human Resources Duties

  • Draft letters of appointment and job descriptions.
  • Ensure that necessary counseling is provided or arranged for employees when required.
  • Ensure effective communication with employees.

  • Input in drafting company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor company policy and procedures in line with group policy and prevailing legislation.

  • Assist Senior HR Manager in compiling a summarized report to Senior Management on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that a weekly HR report is sent to management.
  • Ensure criminal checks are done for new employees in advance.
  • Ensure criminal checks are conducted for all existing employees every 2 years.
  • Ensure daily labor costs are done and submitted.
  • Manage the Time and Attendance system.
  • Manage the on-site clinic.
  • Implement wellness initiatives.
  • Arrange counseling for employees when required.

IR

  • Deal with all performance, grievance, and IR-related issues in a legally compliant and professional manner.
  • Conduct investigations regarding theft and other disciplinary issues.
  • Issue relevant disciplinary action and documentation.
  • Arrange and sit in disciplinary hearings.
  • Ensure that all IR-related employee documents are signed and in the employee's file.
  • Prepare notice to attend a hearing, absconsion, written warnings, etc.
  • Notify all necessary people, including the employee, of the findings.
  • Attend CCMA/BC cases on behalf of the company.
  • Ensure De-Merit Point Warnings are issued.
  • Ensure Alert Warning on points are issued.
  • Attend union meetings.
  • Investigate daily absenteeism and issue necessary disciplinary actions.

Payroll Management

  • Ensure management of the JNB payroll:
  • Payroll is captured.
  • Deadline dates are met.
  • Ensure payslips are printed and distributed monthly.
  • Ensure all payroll-related filing is done monthly.
  • Ensure all employee files are up to date.
  • Prepare all 3rd party payments and schedules by deadline dates, but not limited to:
  • Garnishee's.
  • Maintenance Orders.
  • Funeral Contributions.
  • Union Contributions.
  • Bargaining Council Contributions.
  • Provident Fund Contributions.
  • Ensure all third-party preparations are submitted to finance timeously for payments.
  • All terminated employees' files need to be archived.
  • Ensure regular employee file checks are done.
  • Ensure submission of electronic UIF declarations and claims via U-filing.
  • Ensure submission of all injuries on duty via the online portal.
  • Ensure the year-end OID report is submitted to finance for payments.
  • Ensure the monthly leave report is monitored and further submitted to finance.

General

  • Observe all safety rules and procedures.
  • Ensure that all equipment and materials are not left in a dangerous state.
  • Ensure that all HSE rules and procedures are followed, and hazards/near misses and accidents are properly reported.
  • Raise any work-safety hazard when participating in HSE meetings or Risk Assessment.
  • Perform any other reasonable task required by management.

Perfil

  • Qualifications:

  • Diploma in HR Management.
  • HR Degree will be an advantage.
