About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join Neptune and contribute to the growth and development of the agriculture sector in the Western Cape. As a Senior Agricultural Economist, you will be responsible for providing expertise and guidance in areas such as market analysis, economic modeling, and policy development.

In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities and challenges facing the agriculture sector, and develop solutions to address these issues. You will also be responsible for analyzing data and trends, and providing recommendations to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and programs to promote the growth and development of the agriculture sector
  • Conduct market analysis and economic modeling to inform policy decisions
  • Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities and challenges facing the agriculture sector
  • Provide recommendations to inform decision-making
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in economics and a proven track record of working in the agriculture sector. You should have excellent analytical and communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

You will also need to have a strong understanding of policy development and implementation, and be able to think strategically about how to address complex issues. A master's degree in economics or a related field is required, and relevant work experience is highly desirable.
