Job Summary

Nelson Mandela University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Administrator to join our team. As an HR Administrator, you will play a critical role in enhancing the HR service delivery across the HR value chain to realize efficiencies across the University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Management: Accurately categorize and capture information, including identifying problems, changes, and/or flag document and data integrity issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Procedural Obstacles: Remove or flag procedural obstacles to quality data and data capturing accuracy.
  • Data Processing: Process and capture data within standards and guidelines.
  • Employee Onboarding: Create an employee profile for newly appointed employees, create new service records for current or former employees, allocate a relevant code to newly appointed employees, and load fund records to the employee profile.
  • Employee Maintenance: Update employee profiles, update and maintain leave records, and ensure accurate employee details.
  • Employee Termination: Terminate an employee service record, manually calculate leave payout on termination of service, and reconcile service records.
  • General Queries: Attend to general front-line queries from employees, line managers, and HR, process payroll data according to University's business process, and identify and alert relevant data trends to line managers.
  • Administrative Support: Execute HR front office procedures, answer telephones, disseminate information to employees and visitors, provide clerical support, process reservation requests for the HR Boardroom, complete administrative tasks, and communicate effectively with employees and the University community.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Identify deviations and non-compliance from legislation and policy application, assist in instituting corrective action with relevant stakeholders, report non-compliance/deviations to specialists timeously, and invoke procedures to recover incorrect leave where supporting documents are not valid.
Requirements
  • Education: Matric/Grade 12
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years relevant experience
