Job Overview

The Western Cape Government is seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Administrative Support Officer: Professional Development. This position involves supporting the implementation of professional development programmes within the Department of Social Development.

Salary Details

This permanent position offers a salary level of 7, ranging from R308,154 to R362,994 per annum. Additionally, qualifying employees may receive service benefits or obligations funded or co-funded by applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and report on the Professional Development Portfolio, including collation of departmental inputs for reports.
  • Provide support for professional development-related activities.
  • Database management and recordkeeping of professional development activities.
  • Monitor continuous professional development and statutory registration of health and social service practitioners.
  • Assist in the roll-out of capacity building initiatives for the department.
  • Implement transformation programmes and people empowerment interventions.
  • Assist management support staff in all administrative duties.
  • People Management: Participate in recruitment and selection of staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Apost-school qualification (Certificate/Diploma/ NQF level 5 or higher qualification)
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • A valid code 08 Drivers' licence
