Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Claims Specialist to join our team at Nedbank. As a Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Risk Advisor within our Nedbank Insurance brokerage, driving the Nedbank Insurance brand and service strategy to achieve targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service and manage claims on a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Register claims on internal systems and with various Insurers, enforcing claims handling processes aligned to event requirements.
  • Keep clients informed at all stages, negotiate claims settlements, and review repudiations aligned to policy conditions.
  • Report on outstanding claims exceeding 90 days, high-value claims, and multi-claimants identified.
  • Handle claims in a manner that retains clients, addressing areas of risk and reporting on policy amendment requirements post-claim finalization.
  • Maintain internal and external relationships, including Nedbank stakeholders and clients.
  • Adhere to service standards and Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Identify and recommend ways to improve business processes and systems to operate more effectively and add value to clients and business.
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Qualification as per FSCA list: Cat 1.2 and 1.6 (Short-term Insurance Personal & Commercial lines)
  • First Regulatory Examination: Representatives (RE 5)
  • 3-5 years experience in Short-term Insurance claims (Personal and Commercial lines)
