Oza Holdings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Manager to join our team. As the Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring effective implementation and adherence to environmental standards and guidelines applicable to the mining operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To develop, implement and maintain an environmental management system that ensures effective adherence to environmental legislation and regulations.
  • To conduct regular environmental risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
  • To develop and implement environmental standard operating procedures.
  • To create environmental awareness amongst employees through training sessions, etc.
  • To ensure all environmental impacts are routinely assessed and addressed.
  • To manage and distribute pertinent environmental monitoring data.
  • To maintain a system of reporting environmental incidents and reviewing recommendations to rectify deviations.
  • To direct employees and contractors on how to implement environmental requirements, such as pollution control, waste reduction, and best environmental management practices.
  • To conduct regular environmental audits to ensure that environmental requirements are adhered to.
  • To ensure effective implementation of recommendations made by external environmental auditors.
  • To manage waste collection on site and maintain records of waste disposal certificates.
  • To develop action plans for incidents, complaints, and audits.
  • To compile reports for water and air quality monitoring and maintain a database of water consumption and distribution.

Requirements:
  • A relevant degree or diploma in environmental science/environmental management.
  • 3-5 years' experience in mining/process environment in a related field.
  • Professional registration (advantage).
  • Computer literacy: MS Office and MS Excel.
  • Presentation and facilitation skills.
