Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership:
    • Collaborate closely with our CEO/Creative Director to translate our brand's vision into innovative designs that align with our artistic and sustainable ethos.
    • Lead our design team in creating original, trend-setting collections that reflect our aesthetic and brand values.
    • Oversee the development of sketches, technical drawings, and prototypes, ensuring all designs meet our high standards for creativity and craftsmanship.
    • Manage the entire design process, from concept development to final product, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
  • Production Management:
    • Oversee the production process from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery of all products.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the highest quality of materials and workmanship.
    • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet our rigorous standards.
    • Monitor production schedules, budgets, and timelines, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
    • Ensure sustainable and ethical production practices, in line with our commitment to environmental responsibility.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and inspire our design and production teams, fostering a collaborative and creative working environment.
    • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for team members, ensuring continuous growth and learning.

  • Sustainability and Innovation:
    • Champion sustainable practices throughout the design and production process, including the use of eco-friendly materials, ethical labor practices, and waste reduction.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and sustainable innovations, integrating them into our production and design processes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new materials, techniques, and processes that enhance sustainability without compromising on design quality.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage budgets for the design and production departments, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
    • Optimize resource allocation, including materials, time, and labor, to achieve production goals within budget.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality and integrity of the product.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Production Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in fashion, sustainability, or business management are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in fashion design and production, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the luxury or avant-garde fashion sector.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in fashion design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, CAD), strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and textile properties.
  • Sustainability Expertise: Deep knowledge of sustainable fashion practices, including eco-friendly materials, ethical manufacturing, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading and inspiring creative teams, with excellent team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and production processes clearly.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate and solve production challenges, maintaining quality and timelines.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring precision in both design and production.
