Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager - Beauty

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marketing Manager - Beauty to join our team at takealot, a leading South African online retailer. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to drive customer engagement, adoption, brand awareness, and revenue growth in the Beauty category.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to achieve business objectives and drive category growth.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, preferences, and trends within the Beauty category, and use this information to develop targeted marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Retail & Marketplace, Advertising, and Marketing, to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with business objectives and campaign calendar.
  • Manage marketing budgets for the Beauty category, allocating resources effectively to maximize return on investment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, such as suppliers, industry partners, and influencers, to enhance brand positioning and expand market reach.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging marketing techniques, and make recommendations for adapting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in business, marketing, or communication.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years marketing and retail experience, with a proven track record of successful marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Experience working across marketing channels, including digital, ATL, partnerships, and commercial.
  • Beauty category knowledge essential.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
