Job DescriptionWe are seeking an exceptional Commercial Banking Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating revenue by sourcing new clients and proactively managing existing accounts to maximize profitability.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A Grade 12 certificate
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g. commerce, finance)
- Certificate in Banking (ideal)
- BCom (Ideal)
- Relevant RE qualification (Ideal)
Previous sales experience in the financial services industry is essential, with at least three years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in IT systems is also highly desirable.

- To actively grow the client base by agreed targets of new acquisitions per month to achieve sales targets
- Cold calling, networking, and approaching prospective clients to sell Bidvest's value proposition
- Anticipating and interpreting customer business requirements to secure their banking needs
- Providing timely solutions to clients through researching their business needs and educating them on Bidvest's products
- Ensuring excellent service levels and quality to customers to retain clients and build long-term relationships
- To provide relevant reports to track progress
- To review client files and keep up-to-date with changes of directors, board members, and authorized signatories
- To update and manage all client interaction on the CRM system
- To build successful relationships with legal, credit, internal bankers, back office, and Treasury teams to achieve client needs
- To sign off files and work with legal and credit teams to ensure necessary documents are in place and delivered to clients
- To deal with the Financial Surveillance Department to assist clients in approaching the Reserve Bank if necessary
- To follow up with parties to resolve queries
- To stay abreast of Compliance (FICA) requirements
- To have knowledge of Banking products and channels
- To understand FAIS compliance
- To undergo Anti-Money Laundering training
- To comprehend the sales cycle
