The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Department of Languages and Literatures, ensuring the efficient functioning of the department. This role involves delivering a comprehensive administrative and secretarial function, including providing secretarial support, organizing meetings and events, maintaining documentation, and performing financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the department, including preparing and organizing meetings and events.
- Maintain an online filing system for departmental documentation and ensure accurate and timely entry of marks and reports.
- Perform financial transactions, including sending and following up on accounts, and processing online appointments.
- Communicate and collaborate with external service providers and interact with students and members of the public.
- Work well in a multicultural and diverse environment, resolving issues and problems as they arise.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
- Relevant diploma in Administration/Public Management would be an added advantage.
- Completed two years work experience in a Secretarial or administrative assistant post at University or Tertiary institution level.
- Proven ability to work in Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power-Point, Outlook, ITS and iEnabler.
