Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Department of Languages and Literatures, ensuring the efficient functioning of the department. This role involves delivering a comprehensive administrative and secretarial function, including providing secretarial support, organizing meetings and events, maintaining documentation, and performing financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support to the department, including preparing and organizing meetings and events.
  2. Maintain an online filing system for departmental documentation and ensure accurate and timely entry of marks and reports.
  3. Perform financial transactions, including sending and following up on accounts, and processing online appointments.
  4. Communicate and collaborate with external service providers and interact with students and members of the public.
  5. Work well in a multicultural and diverse environment, resolving issues and problems as they arise.

Requirements

  1. Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
  2. Relevant diploma in Administration/Public Management would be an added advantage.
  3. Completed two years work experience in a Secretarial or administrative assistant post at University or Tertiary institution level.
  4. Proven ability to work in Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power-Point, Outlook, ITS and iEnabler.
