Commercial Operations Director

You will report directly to the head of the business at Hr Legend. Your main responsibilities will include negotiating prices with transportation subcontractors and negotiating prices for empty depots. Previous experience with price negotiation in a logistics environment is therefore absolutely essential.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Negotiation, Agreement, and Monitoring of Adherence to Agreed Rates:

  • Negotiation Planning and Strategy
  • Transportation Base Rate Determination and Optimization
  • Plug Point and Weighbridge Base Rate Determination and Management
  • Monthly Rate Adjustments and Updates
  • Carrier Haulage and Freight Management

Market Development and Solution Creation:

  • New Business Development and Growth
  • Customized Solution Development for Client Requirements
  • Spot Rate and Quote Management

Service Level Agreement Management:

  • Service Level Agreement Development and Updates
  • Subcontractor Performance Monitoring and Improvement
  • Subcontractor Registers and Insurance Management
  • Subcontractor Equipment and Capacity Management
  • Credit Agreements and Subcontractor Meetings

Capacity Planning and Management:

  • Ensuring Adequate Subcontractor Capacity
  • Procurement Strategy and Planning
  • Subcontractor Planning Guidelines and Best Practices

Team Management:

  • Budgeting, Recruitment, Development, Leadership, Performance Management, Tools, Productivity, Support, and Reporting
