The Westcliff Hotel, located in Johannesburg, is a stylish urban resort elevated on a hillside with panoramic views across the city. The hotel features nine sun-splashed villas, courtyards, fountains, and gardens, making it a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city life.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team at Four Seasons Hotel, The Westcliff, Johannesburg. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will have the chance to work with a talented team of chefs, pastry cooks, and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional cuisine to our discerning guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond promptly to guest requests

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent position in a high-end hotel or restaurant
  • Excellent culinary skills, including knowledge of international cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
