Academic Registrar

Key Responsibilities:
The Academic Registrar will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of academic legislative and regulatory requirements at CTU Career Chatz. This includes the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedural guidelines in line with national educational acts and regulations.
Key Areas of Focus:
The Academic Registrar will focus on developing and managing a Quality Management System based on national and international best practices. This will involve ensuring that the Registrars Office is at the forefront of the latest techniques and operational field, through international and national benchmarking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student admissions and registrations
- Assessment and moderation administration
- Graduation service
- Annual update of rules and regulations
- Updating academic prospectus and coordinating disseminating information on courses and course guidelines
- Acting as the custodian of all student records and developing, implementing, and maintaining effective and compliant records management
- Attending all meetings of the senate and senate committees and providing necessary committee services
- Providing guidance on all matters of academic governance and policy to all faculties and other departments if required
- Warranting of assessment and moderation reports, academic transcripts, and certificates
- Preparation of the institutional annual report for submission to the DHET
- Participating and serving in all initiatives as determined by the Academic Dean
- Liaising with external stakeholders, quality councils, and SETAs
- Keeping the academic and student support policies/rules register valid and ensuring: policies are effectively implemented and legal and regulatory compliance with policies
- Student disciplinary matters
- Student and parent consultation meetings
Requirements:
The Academic Registrar should have a minimum of an Honours Degree in Education, specialising in Education. A Master's degree in Education is recommended. The candidate should have at least ten years of relevant experience at a tertiary institution, with five years in a senior management role. Experience working with learning management systems, Microsoft Dynamics, and Microsoft Office 365 is preferred.
