PBT Group is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The role of a Business Intelligence Analyst is pivotal in connecting the dots between business needs and IT capabilities, ensuring that data-driven enhancements to processes, products, services, and technologies lead to increased efficiency and value for our clients.

The Business Intelligence Analyst acts as a crucial intermediary between end users and the BI project team, responsible for gathering and articulating business requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of business goals, challenges, and the ability to present data effectively to resolve these issues. The analyst is proficient in utilizing various tools and techniques to derive insights from data, ranging from simple queries to complex multidimensional analyses and data mining, while ensuring the extraction of maximum value from the data.

The analyst will also contribute to the design of data marts, ensuring optimal data availability, format, flexibility, and performance. Engagement in the complete Data Product Lifecycle is essential, including requirement gathering, data analysis, and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Requirement Definition:

  • Conduct interviews with end users to identify requirements for data, reports, analyses, and performance metrics.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating potential data sources.
  • Ensure BI solutions meet defined requirements and service levels.
  • Coordinate reviews of prototypes and gather feedback.
  • Document requirements in various formats, including:
    • Data Warehouse content requirements
    • Data Mart specifications
    • Information output criteria
    • Functional requirements for information exploitation tools

2. Data Profiling and Feasibility Analysis:

  • Analyze business information needs and recommend appropriate scopes and priorities.
  • Validate business requirements against production data.
  • Map business needs to subject area models and logical enterprise models.
  • Identify and validate dimension hierarchies.
  • Establish business rules for state detection.

3. Design Phase:

  • Collaborate with architects to convert requirements into technical specifications.
  • Identify business transformation rules and design access structures using production data.
  • Classify business users and develop security standards.
  • Create models for state transformations.

4. Development Support:

  • Provide on-hand support to the development team to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements.

5. Testing Phase:

  • Plan and execute acceptance tests for functionality and data integrity.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing.

6. Change Management and Deployment:

  • Educate users on data warehousing capabilities and design training programs.
  • Define service-level agreements in collaboration with business users.
  • Develop training materials and user guides.
  • Assist users in navigating and utilizing data effectively.

Required Skills and Experience:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in delivering Data & Analytics projects, with a strong focus on facilitating the Data/Analytics Development Lifecycle.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL and BI tools
  • Experience with data modeling and analysis

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills

Qualifications:

  • Relevant IT or business-related qualification preferred.
  • BA certification (e.g., FTI) is advantageous.
