Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at Excelgens Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server hardware and network troubleshooting, with a proven track record of resolving complex technical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot server hardware issues, conducting root cause analysis and failure analysis to identify and resolve problems.
  • Support global field deployments by maintaining equipment, software, and assisting technicians.
  • Track server fleet health, investigating trends and unknown issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize Linux and Windows command-line interfaces for hardware troubleshooting and network configuration.
  • Set up physical networks, troubleshoot layers 1-3, and manage cables effectively to ensure efficient network operations.
  • Assist network administrators in setting up switches and updating port maps to ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, organize pre-work meetings, and provide daily status updates to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, and conduct training sessions to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Provide accurate feedback to engineering teams on failures and serviceability issues to inform product development and improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Center Technician with server hardware and network troubleshooting experience in a data center environment.
  • Strong server hardware knowledge with root cause analysis and failure analysis experience.
  • Proficiency in network troubleshooting and cable management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new products and technologies.
Benefits

Working Hours: Business Hours only (Monday to Friday)

Shift: No Night Shift

Over Time: OT allowance will be paid over and above the salary if asked to put extra hours on weekday/weekends

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience as a data center technician with server hardware and network troubleshooting experience in a data center environment.
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to independently and regularly lift items weighing up to 50lbs or in partnership for items over 50lbs in weight.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a local or geographically dispersed team environment.
