About the Role:

E2E Staffing (PTY) LTD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Management: Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain a budget for fleet operations, including forecasting and tracking expenses.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of fleet supervisors and administrative staff to ensure smooth and timely execution of fleet maintenance and repairs.
  • Driver Recruitment and Training: Oversee driver recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Fleet Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze fleet performance, including vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Fleet Acquisition and Disposal: Oversee the acquisition and disposal of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of fleet vehicles and parts.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer guidelines and best practice.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and maximize the lifespan of fleet vehicles.
  • Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to management on fleet performance, budget, and any issues or concerns.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards in the management of the fleet.
  • Industry Trends: Stay informed about industry trends and developments to make informed decisions for the fleet.
  • Asset Management: Manage/book all plant, vehicle, and equipment, movement etc.
  • Costing and Allocation: Calculate operator hours/plant allocations/project allocations, and supply costings to the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, proven leadership and team management abilities, proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
