Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Specialist to join our team at Performit Personnel in Port Elizabeth.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and improving all legal-related processes within the company, as well as drafting and assisting with contracts, letters, and implementing and monitoring projects. They will also be responsible for facilitating training of the contract department staff, implementing standardized practices, and improving efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and improve all legal-related processes within the company
  • Draft and assist with contracts, letters, and other legal documents
  • Implement and monitor projects related to legal matters
  • Facilitate training of contract department staff on legal procedures and protocols
  • Implement standardized practices and improve efficiencies within the contract department
  • Act as the internal controller of the contract department and its functions
  • Collaborate with different departments to increase the contract department's service performance and reviews
  • Ensure standards are adhered to and contracts are managed effectively
  • Assist in resolving and communicating with CF officials to resolve banking challenges and linking issues
  • Monitor and manage the contract flow of new SPs between REPs, contract department, finance, and operations
  • Develop and change existing contract management processes to improve efficiency
  • Guide and advise contract assistants and administrators with difficult contractual and administrative matters
  • Ensure that the team supports and complies with the obligations to clients, staff, and third parties
  • Assist and ensure that communication from the contract department is clear, detailed, and professional
  • Initiate, manage, and implement enhancements to systems as required for contractual efficiency
  • Provide continuous training to contract administrators and assistants
  • Update the team on changes or enhancements to systems or processes within the department

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in preparing, validating, drafting, and reviewing commercial contracts
  • A law degree with completed articles is required
  • Ability to interpret Acts and subordinate legislation and apply to applicable contents
