About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Insurance Development Manager to join our team at Mirna Butler Recruitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a high standard of risk selection, underwriting principles and risk management throughout the lifespan of all policies and brokers in your designated area.
  • Use professional quote templates, maintain quotation record keeping systems and success ratios, and apply the Risk Profile system to determine quality risks.
  • Evaluate new business growth opportunities and implement efficient renewal programs in line with annual goals.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company standards regarding administration, staff, and business operations.
  • Institute and maintain high service standards, meet deadlines, and adhere to company policy and service requirements.
  • Implement quality control policies, minimize errors, and maintain good communication with Head Office.
  • Stay updated on the Agricultural Insurance Market environment and manage expenses within set budgets.
  • Maintain and develop IT system knowledge, including Grail operating systems, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft programs as required.
  • Understand area and company financial aspects when setting up and executing annual and monthly plans and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain business broker networks according to prescribed broker management plans.
  • Work independently to achieve set goals and travel extensively while maintaining operational abilities.
  • Maintain high levels of knowledge, experience, and practical aptitude in marketing, underwriting, claims, premium control, and general office administration.

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years insurance experience with management experience.
  • Experience and qualifications relating to management will be advantageous.
  • Relevant Short Term Insurance qualifications will be advantageous.
  • RE5 certificate compliant with FAIS regulations for registration as Representative.
  • Excellent people and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
  • Motivated and goal-driven.
  • Experience in interacting with Brokers and Clients.
  • The ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent reporting skills and the ability to identify and address risk areas.
