Job Summary

The Principal Hybrid Networking Technical Specialist is a highly skilled professional responsible for the installation, configuration, and fault management of complex networking environments within a technology domain. This role involves remotely supporting clients to install and configure software and hardware, resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis, and adhere to related processes such as change management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interact with clients on-site to meet complex requirements of a solution.
  • Evaluate and escalate unresolved problems and issues to relevant third parties.
  • Delegate lower complexity tasks to engineers and technicians.
  • Assume responsibility for coordinating the activities of engineers, leading by example and monitoring the quality of their work.
  • Write reports and proposals, and complete and maintain project documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to standard operating procedures relating to installations and fixes.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to Implementation Engineers and Technicians.
  • Participate in complex design work, with input to the design expected.
  • Work independently and take ownership of relevant technologies according to domain or specialization.
  • Monitor the quality of work produced by Engineers and Technicians and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Excellent understanding of project management principles.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications
  • Computer Science/Information Technology Degree or equivalent, together with specialized training in new technologies and legacy systems or equivalent.
  • CCIE (Cisco Routing and Switching, Wireless, or ACI).
  • Specialist Networking knowledge and experience essential.
  • Wireless, SDWAN, and ACI beneficial.
  • Superior level knowledge in IP internetworking, LAN Switching, Wireless, WAN protocols, IP Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), and ACI.
