Role Overview

The Corporate Fundraising and Partnerships Professional at VHRS is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to secure funding from corporate partners and institutional donors. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, crafting compelling grant proposals, and ensuring the successful acquisition and stewardship of funds to support VHRS's programs and initiatives.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated and experienced fundraising professional who is passionate about building partnerships and driving growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Fundraising Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute a strategic plan for corporate and institutional fundraising, aligning with VHRS's goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and institutional donors, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Proposal Development and Grant Writing: Prepare compelling grant proposals, funding applications, and sponsorship packages tailored to the interests of corporate and institutional donors.
  • Donor Stewardship and Reporting: Develop and implement donor stewardship plans to acknowledge and recognize contributions from corporate and institutional partners, preparing regular reports on the impact of their contributions.
  • Event Coordination and Sponsorship: Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including corporate sponsorship opportunities, to enhance donor engagement and support.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on corporate and institutional partnerships.
  • Proven track record of securing significant funding from corporate and institutional donors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive proposals and presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in using fundraising software and donor management systems.
  • Knowledge of the non-profit sector, preferably within the context of international humanitarian aid and development.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with self-motivation and the ability to work independently as part of a team.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around R600,000 - R800,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, VHRS offers a range of benefits, including medical aid, retirement fund, and generous leave entitlements.

Location

This role is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and requires regular travel to various locations throughout the country.
