About the Role

Lycopodium is seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our EPCM/EPC team, you will be responsible for overseeing schedules, achieving project objectives, and enhancing efficiencies through collaboration with an integrated planning team and all project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Schedule Development and Maintenance: Lead the development and maintenance of project schedules to ensure up-to-date data for efficient project management.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Provide specialized advice and expertise to enhance project planning and execution, adhering to project-specific and company procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration across business units to streamline project processes and achieve objectives effectively, ensuring alignment of staff composition and skills with Projects & Studies requirements and the Company's strategic plans.
  • Project Improvement Techniques: Develop and implement project improvement techniques and support, ensuring adherence to project-specific and company procedures for consistent work excellence.
  • Stakeholder Management: Actively support the collaboration of internal and external stakeholders to streamline processes and achieve objectives efficiently.
  • Project Monitoring and Control: Facilitate effective implementation and maintenance of project schedules and methods to improve operational efficiency and support business in continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: +15 years postgraduate experience, 5+ in a similar position.
  • Location: Cape Town based.
  • Citizenship: South African Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Skills: Mining projects experience in an EPCM role, knowledge in 4D planning, ability to run multiple projects and manage team, ability to understand typical technical documents such as PFD's, P&ID's, GA drawings, etc.
