About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at Pple Group. In this challenging and rewarding role, you will be responsible for managing the pastry section of our kitchen, ensuring a high standard of quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Pastries and Baked Goods Production: Oversee the preparation and baking of pastries, cakes, and other sweet treats, following recipes and adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Kitchen Operations: Collaborate with the executive and sous chefs to optimize kitchen workflow, ensuring seamless communication and teamwork.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed within budget constraints.
  • Staff Supervision: Train and supervise staff members, promoting a positive work environment and maintaining high standards of quality and service.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, post-secondary training in culinary arts, and a certificate in pastry-making, baking, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a professional kitchen, preferably as a Pastry Chef or Baker.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of baking techniques, sanitation principles, and nutrition; excellent artistic skills for cake decorating; and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
