Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced academic pharmacist to join our team at HR Genie. As an Associate Lecturer in Pharmacy and Health Sciences, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical sciences among undergraduate pharmacy students.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment: Teach, assess, and develop undergraduate BPharm courses, ensuring students acquire a solid foundation in pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Research and Supervision: Supervise undergraduate research topics, conduct research, and publish findings in the field of pharmacy.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate and coordinate pharmaceutical sciences work-integrated activities, promoting community engagement and continuing professional development.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise with pharmaceutical industry partners and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Core Competencies:

  • Pharmaceutical Sciences Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge in the theory of pharmaceutical sciences, with experience in facilitating undergraduate learning and teaching.
  • Research and Development: Demonstrate potential to contribute to pharmacy profession/stakeholder liaison and networking, with good computer skills and knowledge of blended learning methods.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Education: Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognized institution.
  • Registration: Be registered as a pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Experience: Have at least one year of experience lecturing undergraduate pharmacy students in pharmaceutical sciences.

  • Has potential to contribute to the creation of knowledge by involvement in relevant engagement/consulting activities.
  • A background in clinical pharmacy will be an added advantage.
