We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HVAC Technician to join our team at AFMS Group (Pty) Ltd. As a Senior HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of complex HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair central plants, including chillers, pumps, towers, and controls
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on DX plants, including package units, RACS, and splits
  • Ensure the proper functioning of VRV systems and electrical panels
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot building management systems
  • Supervise junior staff and provide guidance and training as needed
  • Liaise with customers on a daily basis to ensure their needs are met
  • Perform standby duties as per roster and work unplanned hours in case of an emergency
  • Dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with OSHACT regulations
Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Ensure each planned maintenance job card has a task sheet attached
  • Verify that all staff working on the job have the necessary PPE
  • Confirm that risk assessments and LOTO procedures have been followed
  • Complete job cards in full and obtain completion signatures
  • Submit completed job cards for closing and report any follow-up work or safety-related matters
General Responsibilities:
  • Train, develop, and uplift junior staff through knowledge and skill transfer
  • Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
  • Provide feedback to the helpdesk at each critical phase of the repair job
  • Demonstrate teamwork and readiness to assist fellow employees
  • Adhere to AFMS Policies, Protocols, and Procedures
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as an HVAC technician
  • Nationally recognized HVAC qualification (Post Trade Test / N3)
  • Industrial refrigeration Trade Test
  • Valid driver's license (Code 8)
  • Knowledge and good understanding of applicable Health & Safety regulations and procedures
