Job Description

The role of the Management Finance Lead at Alpha involves overseeing the entire accounting process for allocated companies. This includes ensuring accuracy and timeliness of entries using Xero, as well as collaborating with the Financial Controller to produce accurate Management Information for clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. End-to-End Accounting: Manage the accounting process for allocated companies, utilizing Xero for efficient entry processing.
  2. Management Information: Collaborate with the Financial Controller to generate accurate management information for clients.
  3. Team Management: Lead and manage the offshore team, distributing work evenly and ensuring high-quality completion.
  4. Client Interaction: Present key findings to clients, acting as a finance business partner.
  5. Monthly Management Accounts: Produce monthly management accounts, handling accruals and prepayments, maintaining fixed asset registers, and managing control accounts.
  6. Supervision: Supervise Accounts Assistants.
  7. Financial Reporting: Provide financial information promptly and accurately, including VAT and other statutory returns.
  8. Contractor Gross Profit Reports: Review reports for allocated companies and assist with commission calculations.
  9. Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare relevant accounts and supporting schedules for review by the Financial Controller.
  10. Ledger Postings: Check and review postings to accounting ledgers.
  11. Debt Management: Keep management informed about aged debt status.
  12. Holiday Cover: Provide holiday cover for Contractor Payroll for allocated companies.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  1. Experience in management accounting, preferably in a leadership role.
  2. Degree in Accounting / Financial Management.
  3. Strong proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills for client interaction.
  5. Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to maintain high departmental standards.
  7. Knowledge of statutory financial requirements and regulations.
  8. Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  9. Experience in budgeting and financial reporting.
