About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planning Expert to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our transportation planning and traffic engineering team, you will be responsible for conducting analysis and developing traffic/transportation designs as part of a project team on a diverse array of infrastructure projects.


Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis and modelling, as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure. You will be based in Cape Town, South Africa, and will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct assignments in the civil engineering field of traffic engineering and transportation planning;
  • Plan, organise and manage work on projects;
  • Make recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems;
  • Prepare and present technical plans and reports;
  • Institute changes in methods, designs or equipment;
  • Under Supervision, perform work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule. When required, collect and analyse information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project models;
  • Use computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems. Coordinate with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process;
  • Participate in design progress and coordination meetings;
  • Check and ensure the quality of model production for accuracy to design instructions. Actively seek information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develop efficiencies and effectiveness;
  • Contribute by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments;
  • Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.

Requirements



  • A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in a similar role is essential;
  • Proven experience in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis and modelling, as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure;
  • Familiarity with transport modelling software (e.g., PTV, SIDRA, Synchro) and GIS applications is advantageous;
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and effectively present findings;
  • Capacity to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • BTech Degree an accredited Institution; and Registered as a Candidate Technologist or Professional Technician with ECSA;
