Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and operate company quoting systems and other travel-related programs.
  • Have good product knowledge and sound geographical knowledge of Southern and East Africa.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks, planning, and meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Provide professional service levels at all times.
  • Handle pressure and volume while multitasking.
  • Perform emergency phone duties.
  • Generate quotations for agents.
  • Negotiate rates where possible.
  • Ensure rates are loaded into the operating system.
  • Utilize preferred suppliers.
  • Familiarize yourself with preferred suppliers' products.
  • Set up and manage provisional bookings.
  • Oversee all aspects of tours within budget.
  • Produce guide manuals to ensure smooth tour operations.
  • E nsure agent information and tour information are consistent.
  • Assist in handling complaints by gathering feedback from suppliers, guides, etc.
  • Contribute to the management and training of junior consultants.
  • Continuously seek new venues and activities, advising the team and the rest of the office.
  • Take full responsibility for all aspects of tours being run.
  • Complete necessary administrative tasks for the Accounts department.
  • Achieve set targets.
  • Undertake any other reasonable work-related assignments assigned by your direct manager or another manager.
  • Create invoices for agents and track payment for tours.
  • Proofread marketing materials sent by agents for tour promotion.
  • Verify guides booked for tours.
  • Request sales updates on groups from agents, obtain final booking numbers, and ensure we have all necessary information to run the tours.
