Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in sourcing Chemicals, Engineering, or Mining products
- Thorough understanding of procurement processes
- Strong technical acumen, follow-up capabilities, quality-focused, with effective planning and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Experience with SYSPRO or similar systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and issuing purchase orders to suppliers
- Maintaining supplier master data
- Coordinating with production, engineering, transporters, and suppliers regarding forecasts and acquisitions
- Collaborating with various departments and providing essential documentation on goods received/ordered
- Managing administrative tasks, participating in local production meetings, and fostering relationships with suppliers
- Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on supplier performance, quality, timeliness of deliveries, and service levels
- Negotiating pricing to ensure the commercial viability of vendors/suppliers
- Conducting regular inventory assessments and reviewing slow-moving stock/spares
- Updating critical spare parts holdings and inventory valuations
