Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Financial Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Professional Recruitment Network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Group VAT compliance is adhered to and provide support with tax compliance functions within the tax department.
  • Prepare VAT Returns, review and reconcile VAT accounts, assist with VAT audits and reviews.
  • Assist with SARS and general tax queries, identify VAT processing errors and resolve queries accurately and timeously.
  • Prepare VAT reasonability calculations and reconcile annual VAT balances, provide VAT training and communicate changes in legislation.
  • Resolve VAT queries for Group and provide VAT advice where applicable, provide support with general tax compliance functions within the tax department.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Financial Accounting or Diploma in Taxation/Accounting or studying towards an Accounting or Tax degree/diploma.
  • A diploma in VAT or equivalent certification will be advantageous, showcasing specialized knowledge in VAT compliance and procedures.
  • 3+ years experience in VAT or similar financial role, demonstrating a strong understanding of VAT principles and regulations.
  • Accounting software package experience (Sage 300 Accpac advantageous).
  • Must have experience on SARS e-filing.
  • Experience in processing accounting records and compiling financial information.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in the application of the Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act and dealings with SARS.
